Less is the practice

A quiet altar is less a place than a pause. Choose one or two stones, not a crowd, and let empty space do the work. A single amethyst on linen reads as calm; a shelf of twenty reads as storage.

Light, gently

Morning light flatters low-saturation minerals. Place amethyst where the sun meets it briefly, then let the room settle. Avoid direct, all-day sun, which dulls both color and finish over time.

Care is the ritual

Dust gently, rotate with the seasons. The care itself is the practice — a few minutes each month when you simply notice the object and the space it holds.
